ICVP Technical Session Report

Technical session of Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists commenced on Oct. 23, 2018 (from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) at Auditorium of SDAU, Sardarkrushinagar, Gujarat with welcome and introductory remarks by Dr. T V Anil Kumar, President, ICVP during Veterinary Pathology Congress-2018. The session was coordinated by Dr. Amarjit Singh, Secretary, ICVP Chaired by Dr. TV Anilkumar, President ICVP.

The following Model case presentations were delivered by ICVP Diplomates:

Dr. Pankaj Shelar

1. "Locally Invasive, Non-systemic, Thymic Lymphoma in a 15-Week Old Male CD-1 Mouse"

2. "Ectopic serous gland rests (stomatodeum remnants) in the Neurohypophysis of a 8-Weeks Old Male SD Rat"

Dr. G. Selvem

3. "Combined Hepato-cholangiocellular Carcinoma in a Female Labrador Dog"

An award session for the best case presentation based on complete PM reports/Case study and other associated findings was held in which young veterinary pathologists including MVSc /PhD students (upto 35 years of age and life member/Associate member of IAVP) participated. The young pathologists were trained by the ICVP diplomates for the case presentation. The session was chaired by Dr. VK Gupta, Chair Examination. A total of seventeen (17) case presentations were delivered. Out of these, following presentations selected for the ICVP awards:

 After the award session, Dr. V K Gupta, Chairman ICVP Examination Committee delivered a presentation on ‘ICVP Board Certification Examination’. He discussed the Examination System, its syllabus, pattern and important tips along with style of the examination papers through questions from the last three years of the Certification Examination.

The ICVP Technical Session was concluded with remarks by Dr. MC Prasad and vote of Thanks by Dr. Amarjit Singh, Secretary ICVP.
